Caring and comfort
Are what all ask for
And some are not given
Why do I have this feeling

Someone else is me
I can't feel
What I want to feel
How can I make those last few steps
If no one will let me by
For they care too much

Someone else is me
Don't pretend that it is
You I do not mind
For I mind when
I am not meself
When someone cages me in
Why do I have this feeling

Someone else is me
Me hands clutch a numb head
That has receded into an immeasurable world
Where me future is not me own
And I shiver in the darkness
Let me go free
So I can feel that

I can be meself
And crash when I fall
And rejoice when I succeed
And celebrate when I've broken another wall
And shiver when I see the darkness
