I'll have to try this out the next time I color an image, usually I just manually paint colors over the black and white image and fiddle with blending modes, adjustment layers and built-in filters to color an image in photoshop.

I've done that too. I've posted probably 6 or 7 colourization tutorials on my forum because I always evolve how I do it, haha. Or discover a new way and it's like it's, new tutorial time! lmao I actually miss this way because I don't have variations anymore.
