Okay, this isn't totally finished yet, but I figure I should upload this now and fix more things about it later, especially since I've got on-going art trades with other people using this character!So, ta-da! This is my Xelor lady, Harmonicus "Elle" Rey. I call her "ER" usually, and all together, it's H.E.R. *w*
I think over time, I've made her outfit too simple, even though she is supposed to be a guild leader. So now she has a pretty complicated outfit again XD I'm really trying to emphasize her cape, which now has a galaxy style--her cape has always been the most important part of her!
Uhhh let's see, what else...I'm not very consistent about how I draw her bandages or even her armor. I just do whatever looks good in a given picture lol. And the sword! Uh, it's complicated and kinda sucks to draw. I have no excuse, I just think it looks cool XD

I think there is probably a tiny bit in her crotch area that isn't covered in bandages! I'm surprised you're the first person to ask that! I think about it too X'D

Oh she's adorable!! I'm very hard on Xelors but I love her design. And the colors! She's like a mummy magical girl, I love it. Her little eyelashes, her little smile, her epaulettes, everything!!
and I don't think anyone draws Xelors' bandages consistently, ain't nobody got time for that.

Yes, magical girls, that's exactly it!! A magical girl has to fight and look cute/pretty while doing it XD And part of that is a smile, right? Harmonicus'sΒ little smile is my favorite part about drawing her--I can wring a lot of different expressions out of an unchanging smile. Also it makes her look a little unnerving depending on the scene, which is very helpful too *v*

Thank you so much! I've always wanted to do comics, but the thing that always held me back was picking a style to draw in and making everything feel--cohesive and consistent! I think I've finally learned enough and practiced enough to do comics properly *_* I can't wait to finish, oh my lord, 7 more reference sheets. I'm gonna die.
And I'm glad you like how she looks unmasked! <3 I love drawing her little winged eyelashes, and her braids--not totally sure how she gets her bangs like that and then the rest of her hair all braided, and also how she fits all those braids under her perfectly bandaged dome-head, but whatever, it's magic anime hair, there only rule is everything has to look cool.

When I saw "I call her "ER" usually" I couldn't help but think of the Youtuber E;R, who, unlike Elle here, hates everything people love and may possibly have an unknown soft spot for something...Β
That said, Elle is THICC lovely! Her design is pretty cool, and she has a personality that could make for fun interactions, a good character for just idling and thinking about.

Huh, I just watched one of his videos--it seems like he thrives on controversy XD Surprisingly well-edited videos, definitely wasn't expecting that for the ah, amount of dislikes his videos have.
THICC XELOR BABE Thank you! I appreciate her as a character that can "kick off" a scene, and also end the scene if it's dragging on too long. I like quick, snappy writing in comics, and she's perfect for that.Β

That's just the thing, he doesn't have lots of dislikes because his content is bad, it's really good, he has lots of dislikes because he steps on people's toes with his cold, unfeeling objectivity. It is common knowledge that cancerous fans hate people who think differently, even more so if that person can back themselves up. I love his videos since they're hilariously comedic while also analyzing popular media. The man devour salt as his primary food source and has a feast whenever he reads the comments.
10/10 would tell time again A very entertaining character for sure.

It seems you're a fairly devoted fan of E;R! Having watched a few more of his videos, I'm not sure "cold, unfeeling objectivity" is the descriptor I would use... Rather, I think he likes to make jokes, which sometimes enhances a point he's making, and sometimes diminishes it, because he doesn't totally explain his reasoning enough before he hits the punchline. He definitely has a point of view, though, and it's useful to find reviewers that have points of view that resonate with you.
As far as well-edited, humorous video reviews/analysis goes, no one has ever topped Demolition D+ for me. I wish he still made videos, but it's obvious that they were time-consuming to make.

Welcome to Diplomacy 101: "definitely has a point of view" = "this guy doesn't appeal to me." I only like to offend people after I get to know them a little better. That's just common decency!
Honestly, that video was pretty alright. I didn't like most of his jokes and his style of repeating the half-way clever nicknames he gives people and/or films is grating ("The Farce Engorges guys. Get it. Maybe you will if I repeat it twenty thousand times in a twenty minute+ video"), but I sat through the whole thing, so point for him, I guess? It's a good exercise to occasionally watch videos made by people I probably share nothing in common with, not even basic taste.
And DD+ IS a god among men--personally, I think making shorter videos that still make cogent points is indicative of higher skill level, and like E;R, his jokes are politically incorrect, but they are also original, and unexpected in their timing. I need a little more than "tha joooooos" for an off-color joke, you know? I want to laugh and then hate myself.Β

Yeah man, I'm pretty sure having different opinions was ALWAAAAYSSSS enough to offend people. From my perspective, the fact that people might just send me a really huffy comment telling me all the ways that my opinion is toootally wrong is kinda comforting because 1) an angry comment is a lot easier to deal with than say, being whacked with a cane like poor Charles Sumner, and 2) because my opinions always right, so I can't possibly be wrong.
Also I watched the "Turtle Saving is a Hobby" thing, and I liked it but I also feel a little scared permanently by watching that. I think my world was definitely a brighter place before I saw a lady dump a tortoise in a pond...LIKE LITERALLY DUMP? Even if it could swim, why just chuck it in there like that?!
I too am sad when a channel I like ends forever but something something loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.

Not to the extend of today though. And yes, opinions, being subjective in nature, cannot be wrong. What I hate us when people try to assert their opinions as fact, or when they say nonsense and try to throw up the opinion shield.
