Description
After years of using MMD and PMX Editor, I finally discovered how to do this. I knew bone morphs were a thing and I learned how to do a breathing morph from @/MacaronParisPretty BUT I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD POSE AND SAVE IT AS A MORPH IN PMXE SO HERE WE GO.Text:
BONE MORPH TUTORIAL
Hey guys!
I just learned how to do this, so I am showing you all too!
I am using PMX Editor [English]. Link to the version I use will be provided in the description
Link: English Pmx Editor - v1.1
Step One:
Open up Transform View in PMX Editor
Green Highlighted buttons need to be active!!
Step Two:
Pose your desired bones into the desired pose.
For this tutorial, I want my model to have the option to have her pigtails oveer her shoulders. But I don't want to pose them myself EVERY TIME.
Step Two 1/2:
Repeat the pose if you want it to be symmectrical otherwise, skip this step :3
Step Three:
Make sure to MOVE/TRANSFORM the bone a smidge otherwise PMXE will give you an error. Rotation only doesn't work as far as I know
Go to Edit -> Add Bone Morph
If you did it right, you should see this box.
Click Yes
You can see here it added a new Morph!
And you're done!!
Just rename it to whatever you want it to be and test it out.
YES IT WORKS WITH OBJECTS WITH PHYSICS. THE PHYSICS ARE INTACT!!
I hope this helps!! I am glad I figured this out because it's a time saver for sure. I wonder what else I can do with this hehe
