"It's been a long time. How have you been? I've been really busy being dead. You know, after you MURDERED ME."I'm so excited to finally share some photos of my Portal 2 GLaDOS cosplay!
I've had the idea for a true-to-game version of GLaDOS for a few years now, and decided to tackle it over the past three months. Of course, that had to include hanging upside down from a five-foot structure (anything for accuracy, right?). I went with her Portal 2 version for the additional detail and grittiness. I made the armor, structure, harness, and backdrop from scratch, including wiring her up with almost a hundred LEDs and painting the in-game graffiti.

I made the harness such that all of the armor is attached to my body (separate from the structure) so I could get down and walk around and still be in costume. It's a fairly quick process to get up into the hanging position - I just stand on a stool and attach a bunch of clips to the harness, and then 'fall' forward so all of my weight is suspended.

The entire structure is on wheels, so I had a friend moving me short distances at a time. But I can also get out of the harness fairly quickly and just wear the armor walking around, so I generally moved myself between locations during the con.

I saw a video interview of you wearing this cosplay, and it look so realistic in motion. But seeing it photographed just gives it more believability as I don't fully notice a person holding themselves in this costume (in what I can only guess will be painful after a short while) but GLaDOS herself hanging from a structure.
So fantastically done, and just so amazing to see a cosplay of the true to game version of GLaDOS
