I finally finished this! -deep breath-The background wasn't what I was originally going for, but oh well; it worked in the long run. At least Ed and Al look like themselves (after so much erasing). AH! I'm so freakin' happy that this is complete.
I wanted to add Roy SO BADLY, but... I couldn't get him to look right. >_>
This whole thing was done in honor of one of my favorite songs, "Secret Crowds", by Angels and Airwaves. A bit of the lyrics pertaining to the piece:
"If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the far lands
To spread love like violence
Let me feel you, carry you higher
Watch your words spread hope like fire

Yay! I've got so many songs I could draw for FMA...but I have to sit down and DO them sometime. And when I saw it, I thought you'd done it after the anime...it's nice to know I'm not the only one who actually looks at the original manga for reference. ^^ Nice work!

It really DOES look like watercolor... VERY nice!! Of course, I've been seeing the "improvement" as you've experimented with PSP and now PhotoShop, but I think your willingness to try new things in the traditional drawing phase (and to study references with all the patience you do) has pushed you long strides ahead, too. Keep it up, baby girl!

...oh-ho-ho, this is from the back. Front? I'm not too great at humans then. But I'm tryin' to improve. The automail and Al were referenced from tons of different pages of the manga, but they were fun ('specially the automail).

Well, I meant... like... I was having trouble drawing anything FMA-wise that looked decent. So when I decided to draw something from the back instead of their faces, it worked. That's all.

I love illustrating songs and you did such a great job on this one. Man, look at all those lines on Al and the automail! You have waaay more patience than I do.
I like the background, too... The city/hills in the distance look almost like you did them in watercolor.

Aha, oh geez, me too. I heard this song and Ed and Al just instantly came to mind. Had to do it. ^_^ The "patience", though... I had to look through page after page of manga for references because I couldn't find anything useful in the anime. That wore thin on my patience.
