(2021), 2.5x3", Delica beads (black, silver-lined dark red, silver-lined red, silver-lined orange, silver-lined dark gold, silver-lined gold, silver-lined citrus, gold-lined white opal), size 15 seed beads (silver-lined gold), Fireline

This little box is constructed on a triangle base. I built up the walls with a repeating flame pattern reducing the size of the opening towards the top. I then constructed the lid in a stepped design repeating the flame pattern and allowing the opening to fit seamlessly over the top of the box. Both the rim of the box as well as the rim of the lid are edged with a row of smaller seed beads for a bit of an accent.

I kind of free-handed the box with no previous design except for a graph of the flame pattern, which was fun. It felt like I was discovering the shape of the thing as I went along rather than in a design stage ahead of the project.
