Description (2010), 16" for overall length of necklace, silver art clay (cut, carved, fired, antiqued, polished and burnished), bezel wire, blue jasper cab and beads, silver rope chain made from 24 gauge silver wire, silver clasp finding

A blue companion piece to the "Poison" necklace [link] only this time I didn't add strung jasper beads to the central panel. Instead I hooked the pendant up with two square jasper beads for additional accents and then finished off with two lengths of self-made rope-chain and a silver clasp.

I have two more blue jasper cabs with even more amazing veining, however they are more asymmetrical and I am still refining the design to balance out the odd shape of the stones before setting those.

Thank you! It was a left-over from a brief but passionate affair with micro-maille...

Lol wow! I have such difficulty with small wire gauge maille because they just pull apart... the wire isn't very strong.

I guess I'd have to move to steel or something hard. Nice work though!

Just gorgeous. A wonderful pendant and a very nice chain, too. That stone is incredibly dramatic and you used it so well.

Thank you! It was easy to design for this cab, the trick really only consisted in not going too fancy and overwhelming the charisma of the stone...

What a wicked mermaid you must have taken this from! The depth of stone's blue is flat-out incredible, and the simple accents let one wade into it freely. Wonderful, wonderful!

I think it is, though I am sure it is color treated in some way that dyes some of the matrix and leaves other areas unaffected. Normally I am not a sucker for treated stones, but I am making a big exception with these. They are just fabulous!
