Description (2010), 9" x 12", pencil on paper

Now that we're finally getting good Malfoy references from the upcoming HP movie, I was able to finish my set of three drawings of Lucius' transformation from dedicated Death Eater via Azkaban prison and some humiliation at the hands of his master to traitor and rather more dedicated family man.

Thank you! I really liked the three images of Lucius' progression. Never had it in mind when I started with the first one "My True Mask", but I kept coming back to the concept.

I couldn't do anything like that on a single layer; I'm rather addicted to
the flexibility of Layers in Photoshop

Excellent as always!
There was a prompt at mini_fest last year about Christmas 1980 and the three families with new sons, the Potter's, the Longbottom's and the Malfoy's. It made me think. JK Rowling said the Longbottom's and the Potter's were heroes. Yet it was the Slytherin Malfoy's who protected and raised their son. I wonder if Neville or Harry would have preferred to have parents rather than heroics?

I think you have a good point there. I was trying to think of one person whose daughter I would have wanted to be, who has a place in the history books. I couldn't think of anyone - you'd mostly have parents that got murdered, vilified, went to war, had to run an empire, assassinate their enemies and probably never had any time for you. I agree that I'd prefer the unheroic Malfoys who weaseled their way out of trouble the first time...

I know, that hint that Jason dropped in an interview, that they had this "great idea" for Lucius and then lots of his scenes didn't have him in it any more, totally has me worried. I was so happy and relieved when the Malfoys made it through the book, now I have to go through all that angst all over again. Not fair!

Ich freu mich schon auf die Szenen im Film... Allerdings hasse ich Kinomobs, also werde ich mich noch ein paar Tage gedulden muessen bis ich hingehe. Lucius schafft es einfach nicht, schlecht auszusehen - er sieht sogar gammelig noch stilvoll aus. Hach!

Wundervolle Serie. Ich hab mich auch sofort gefreut, als ich auf dem Thumbnail sah, daß Du endlich mal wieder einen Lucius gezeichnet hast. Super, die Gesichtsausdrücke. Auch die Anordnung finde ich sehr gelungen.
Ich fand die schauspielerische Leistung der beiden im siebten Film wieder ΓΌberragend.

Ich freu mich schon darauf, die Szenen endlich im Film zu erleben! Es ist zwar etwas abgedreht, eigendlich nur wegen Snape und den Malfoys ins Kino zu gehen, aber es kommt meiner Motivation ziemlich nahe...

I haven't gone yet. Here the release pretty much coincides with Thanksgiving and hordes of out of school brats storming the cinema. I'll hold off for a few days until things have calmed down a little...

depends on where you live, I guess. in austria we went to the premiere in the biggest cinema in the area and the theatre wasn't even half-full.
