If you're using Win 7 it's as simple as right clicking your desktop and selecting personalise. Under that option you'll find a "change desktop icon" option. Simples!!!!

I love the bin, but it does not appear full when I put something in it. I have converted it to an ico, and it shows the empty bin fine. The full bin even shows in the menu to change the bin's appearance. Any suggestions?

Yea, that was one of my first ever icons. I'm now going for a more retro/steampunk look and the recycle bin just didn't fit in with it. Hence this.
