Actually the sparkly look wasn't intentional. I think it was because of the type of paper I was using, which was a lot thicker and very rough. I wish I could tell you exactly what type of paper it was but unfortunately I've lost that sketchbook and I have no idea how to describe it. Maybe something like a medium weight paper, meant more for charcoal? I don't think it was meant for coloring lol.

What sort of materials did you use to make that sort of texture for violet's costume? Pencil, pastels, crayons? It looks great. The texture you rendered in this drawing gives the perception of that reflective light appearance. You can kind of see that in this screencap of Violet. i0.wp.com/caps.pictures/200/4-…
