ok SO i joined the new Wintercliff group and here are my first (and most likely only) two characters!!
so if you're not familiar with the group & the details, etc. you definitely should go check it out
here's my animal hybrid girl and one of the nurses of Lunar Kraft! from left to right haha

Name: Ivory Janette Garner

Age: 32

Gender: female

Orientation: bisexual

DNA: n/a

Abilities: n/a

Occupation: nurse

Likes: seeing other people healthy & happy, nursing, not being alone/socializing, books, puzzles

Dislikes: self-deprecation, self-abuse/harm, loneliness, dishonesty

Significant Other: Zane Chang

Backstory: Ivory lived a predominantly simple life. She grew up with two nice parents and a plain sister, and the only thing she looked forward to in life was getting the right career in order to make enough money so that she could live exceedingly comfortable. Basically, her life goal was to work and get rich, and then be rich enough to stop working and just relax. So, her schooling lasted almost three decades; from primary schooling to college, nursing school, etc. She worked hard as a nurse and over the years she steadily gained an income, saving it all, of course, for her future plans of relaxation. She had few friends or connections, and little social interaction outside the hospital. One fateful day, Ivory, at 29, was on a boat trip. Her family, which of whom she had been lacking to keep constant contact with, invited her for a "family reunion" and a fun outing. While on this boat trip, they quickly passed by a second boat, with only a single passenger on it; a man by the name of Dr. Lunar Kraft. After a couple hours, on the route back home, the boat started to malfunction, and the captains decided to call for help to any surrounding boats, just in case. Long story short, the boat slowly and painfully sunk, and more than half the people on board drowned. Ivory, thanks to swimming lessons she deemed pointless in her youth, survived and before she knew it, was "saved" by a passing boat. A boat with a single passenger on it, who took in her, along with the few other survivors, to a facility where they would be tested and would never see the real world again. Ivory doesn't know what happened to her surviving peers, but she was interrogated by the Doctor, who, upon finding out she worked as a nurse, immediately told her the inevitable life sentence she was to have as a nurse in this wicked facility. She accepted her fate, at least to the Doctor's knowledge, and she does hope that one day she and all the rest of the patients and people at Wintercliff can escape. But, she's not willing to start any kind of riot or plan herself, she'll just wait it out.

Abilities: incredible climbing/swimming skills, some camouflage, can make 'twittering' noises

Occupation: patient

Likes: fighting/boxing, intellectual conversations

Dislikes: being alone, silence, boredom, dumb people, dishonesty

Significant Other: n/a

Backstory: Kiala spent most of her life in a small part of Africa, living with her poverty-stricken grandmother and three other siblings. She didn't get a proper education, but she did learn how to fend for herself, distinguish right and wrong, along with many other functional life skills. she had a fascination with all organisms (other than humans, of course), especially animals. When she was 18 years old, she traveled from her home country, into real civilization, on her own. Her family and neighbors saw her "spark" and the potential that she possessed for an actual life from a young age. Somehow, by some grace of God, they managed to raise enough money, and help Kiala travel away from their town, and start a new life, a productive life, somewhere else. Unfortunately, the money raised was barely enough to get her the last seat in the last row of a notoriously bad airline, but Kiala was grateful nonetheless. The plane suffered a terrible storm while crossing over the harsh winters of a certain country and crashed nose-first into a seemingly deserted, wintry plain. Every single person on the plane died. Except for Kiala. Sitting the farthest back in the plane saved her, but even though she was alive, what was she going to do now? She survived the cold and lonliness for about a week, eating airplane food and snow off the ground while stripping the clothes & blankets off her deceased peers to protect against frostbite. Miraculously, she was found by somebody traversing the nearly empty plain. A compassionate man, comfortably clothed in black, who was introduced as Derrick, and declared himself a high-level scientist. He offered to bring her along where he was headed, to the Wintercliff facility (unbeknownst to her). As with almost all patients, she was poked and prodded, tested and medically performed on, until she came out of a surgery with a tail, ears, and other animalistic features. Her first emotion was actually happiness, along with surprise, which then turned to fearful curiosity and wonder. And then, of course, fear for her life and wellbeing. She's been at the facility for two years, befriending a couple of other nurses and patients, but keeping mainly to herself. She wants to leave, like most of them do, but she has nothing come back to. Nevertheless, she will always fight against what she knows is wrong, Dr. Lunar's treatment especially, and she aims to leave the facility before she turns 23.
