Old one but It still looks good. Now the gallery won't look so empty ;D!I copied this from a picture of a model of an online goth shop where I usually go in search of some inspiration for clothes. I really liked the pose and the fabric of the dress in that particular picture. My intention was to practice a colouring technique that I read in a book, which consists in painting the picture in gray tones and then adding colour afterwards. Because it was looking really good in grayscale and everybody seemed to prefer it that way I decided to leave it as it is. It looks a bit realistic and, even though it's not what I first had in mind, it still turned out fine and it's good for practice. Maybe there is hope for me in C.G.

They have great photos! The photographer wasn't only concerned about showing the clothes but also about giving the right feel and atmosphere to it.
The photographer's name is Paolo Frunzio and the model is Valeria Sinistrari.

So you took a pose that a photographer who isn't you took, with the angle, lighting, pose, and outfit that they chose, and drew it?
Yes, the lighting is very nice. It's just a shame that you didn't choose it, that would have been the photographer. Why didn't you just snatch their picture, greyscale it, increase the contrast, and give it the oil-paint filter in photoshop? At least then, you could cite the original photographer, instead of what seems to me to be taking credit for his/her/hir work.
To your credit, you did a decent job reproducing the original, I'm sure, but in the future, it might be better to at least choose the pose and lighting yourself, or just do some gesture drawings. Sorry to be so critical and harsh.

You do realize that this is a study of lighting, painting fabric and folds, and human anatomy based on a photo reference with the sole purpose of improving one's skill, right

I know what your saying, being a pencil drawer, I'm seeing a hugh number of people taking a color picture, running it though grayscale an calling it their own. At least elperromamut didn't do that, he was more into finding the beauty of the piece. and he said where he found it. Two tumbs up to em from my book.
