Description Nothing special here, just areally small drawing, smaller than a regular piece of paper.  Probably will move it later to scraps.

My friends gets surprised that i can draw this small with tons of details, and no blue pencils, lightbox or a 4h pencil.

Ive always tell them this story:

It was a comic convention and i had my works in  A3 paper size(10x 15 inches), then one teenager came to see me and said, giving me his back and looking at me, like a weird evil character in anime, " no wonder how he can add so many details because his pages are huge".  Some how that pissed me off.

So next year, i was on same convention, but this time, my portfolio were A4 letter size (8x10 inches), the guy opens my portfolio, he was speechless and he run away, And before he runned away i said "And i made all this drawings with my 0.5mm mechanical pencil and not a 0.3mm like the one you use" He saw my face smiling from ear to ear. He runned away and never saw him since then.

That has to be one of my victories i love the most. Remember the only way to shup up trolls, its with a "hard year of work".

Cool story!

And a cool exercise in there too noted, I will try drawing on a smaller canvas with a big pencil/pen/brush, just to improve my sketching skills later on when I can actually do it well to begin with and maybe one day, I'll be able to sketch somewhere near as well as you

i have a similar story. i went to a cosplay convention for 3 years in a row, every year somehow ending up in the same costume as this one annoying dude. well, every year he would insult me on how my costume was 'simple and enjoyable, but lacked any motivation or creativity'.

my answer? next year i dressed as Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach in a half mask Bankai and brought a real Tensa Zangetsu. he somehow dressed the same, minus the mask. i put on my mask and drew my Zangetsu, and when he saw the blade glint he ran off. have not seen him since. that was two years ago.

I love that little story, that's why I kind of like "bad" critics, especially from people who are not into drawing, they see things that I can't so it just help me improving.

I really love how your design your character's outfits, I usually stare at the body and my mind goes blank because I absolutely have no idea what kind of clothes to draw and it's really frustrating.

Ok, two things

First - I love the work you put into this, I can pin a few details into mine but I still need more practice if I'm ever to compete with this kind of work.  Very awesome.

Second - I hope he learned his lesson.  It doesn't matter how big or small a piece of art is, if you took the time to put so much into your artwork he should just appreciate that you did it at all.

Good job

Ive always take challenges, like a friend told me i couldnt draw real boobs, so i took extra time to show him good boobies, to be honest he was right mine were perfect circle, bad porn surgery type.

XD

I tried drawing a tasteful nude pic once, I was glad when I finished it,

but when I saw one of my friends scribble nasty doodles on it, I went insane.

I mean seriously...

Sometimes its thecomposition the key of nastyness, for example, in hentai art, all lines of the body points to genitals, so their face go to second place of importance, but if you change composition and still showing genitals but not as detailed as the face, they mode to as econd place of importance, thats the difference of tasteful and naughty one.

This is... amazing. Very detailed and very precise.

And that is a really cool story. I hate trolls, so what you did there is... well, you deserve an award for that. Or something.

I use a .7mm pencil mostly, as well as a #3h, and sometimes a #2hb black. I do not own blue or red pencils (I do have colored pencils though...) nor do I have a lightbox...

If I ever see you at a convention sometime, I'll gladly smile at you and tell you "job well done". You're a good artist. Keep it up.

Are you serious? This is so enlightening! Achieving as many details as you seems impossible, but I'm gonna work harder with the 0.5 as from now on!
Thank you for the advice and, please, never stop posting the things you do in front of the TV or during your free time! Those are the most inspiring!

The trick its to do more strokes in a single dab, working in a smaller size helped me to control my lines, wooden pencils are good for a3 size, but if you use mechanical pencil like me, office and letter size are the best ones for it.

I am trying to understand what you're saying, but I guess it will only make sense when I actually draw something!
Thank you for the advice
