I missed drawing these guys (and girl, of course!).
But yeah I wanted to try and see how I would do using SAI to draw and paint the characters I created from the days of old.
The concept I had in mind - well it's pretty much this:
"What would their reaction be when they are surrounded by the enemy?"
Hope to draw more stuff soon, but for now it's back to working on the SONIC UNIVERSE Animated Adaptation Act 3 project.

so.. is the grand hunter series now officially cancelled? 'cause I really liked that comic.. it got me into reading manga

Ruby looks very serious and sophisticated, that is cool
And Fei, so awesome, i like that, i wonder what outfit does he wear this time

The colors and lighting effects are two of the biggest strengths of this piece. I really like the attention to detail that was given to their faces and eyes.
There was one crit I have. On that closeup of the eye in the bottom left panel, I think the lighting effect is too bright and should be toned down a bit. It distracts from the eye itself.

I remember Grand Hunter from a while back. 
Have to say.. Love how you're using SAI for your works now. They seem to be more watercolor looking

Yes indeed I did use the Watercolour brush - seriously that brush is doing some pretty amazing things that Photoshop cannot do.
Working on that drawing of Ash, Ruby and Fei was more of an experiment really - I wanted to see what else SAI has to offer - I've lots more to learn from it and I'm sure there will be new tools just waiting to be discovered.
Thanks for the feedback as always and take your time ready the comic - remind me to get a book for you when I come over for a visit over the Summer this year... (you don't have one yet right? ^^).

I'm in the process of checking out how I'm planning for my trip and adding Edmonton into the itinary is presenting quite a challenge atm! XD Btw I'll be attending Summer of Sonic (the news has just been confirmed [link] ) and hopefully Sonic Boom when I'm visiting Canada/North America.

Despite me not knowing about these three characters, I could see some major changes in comparison with the previous appearances, such as their facial expressions. Haven't seen them in months.

Man, Elson, I missed them too! I've been thinking about them since your recent journal entry (on DK) and I seriously considered asking you when you were going to get back to Cursed Wombat - but I didn't because I figured you would have gotten annoyed about it. Plus, I don't think the hiatus has reached the one-year mark yet XD
It's good to see these fellows again. I look forward to seeing more entries in the future.

Thanks for asking! I don't know... I'm feeling that comics ain't the way to go for me anymore, I just don't have the creative energy to create a story... I've realised that you need LOADS of imagination and creative effort to make a story work.
I may JUST be able to pull of a story short at max nowadays even if it's a fan story of the Sonic series. So yeah original works are hard to master but very rewarding when you get it right.
I hope to draw more concepts and ideas of my past comic works. ^^

I like Ash's anatomy there. o3o Seems a bit different from the last pic though. :3 Also I don't think I ever saw Ruby so serious. XD Might have been but she looks really serious here.
