My friend and I at work today were talking about how Spain is a really cool country. It was definitely a place we'd like to check out one day. Like... Maybe next year...? Valencia perhaps for one of our stops...?

Yeah! When your friend and you decide to visit Spain, you can tell me what is what you'd like the most to see here in Valencia in order to help you a bit to enjoy your visit ! Or... you are very good searching for cool activities. Maybe you'll find something here that I never did before and would like to try! Who knows?

Last year (exactly a year ago!) I helped to my friend, Yana, from Canada in her visit. They were three crazy days in Valencia. There are so many things here to see! But I tried to organize an do everything what Yana told me she 'd like to see and do. For example, she wanted to go to the beach, eat paella and watch a concert, between other things. Man I was so fortunate to find out that there was a zarzuela concert (very Spanish music, with soloists, choir and orchestra) at the Palau de la música (Music Palace) one of the days of Yana's visit to Valencia!

But it's debatable when it comes to cartoons, sometimes disproportion is the art in itself.

One can only get disproportion right if they have the basics of proportion down though. Like, how can one break the rules without understanding what they are? Not trying to disrespect, but some other people who are much blunter than I am might misinterpret your comments as "Oh, he knows he didn't do this right but he's using an excuse not to improve and be complacent" and that's probably not your intent. (And if that is your intent, then you're weird. ) Of course, cartoon anatomy is disproportionate in comparison to realistic anatomy, but when it comes to cartoon anatomy, even in the goofiest figures, they'll tend to have (mostly) consistent proportions, when they're not being distorted and such. And with that being said, when a character is known for not having their hands dragging around on the ground, it's a bit hard for people to believe that having them drawn with their hands dragging around on the ground is the right thing unless the artist knows how to spin it the right way in their own style. Seeing as you're trying to replicate normal Sonic style, there's some foundation to follow.

In general, when Sonic characters (modern and classic) have it so that when their arms are to their sides, the finger tips end near the cuffs of their socks/shoes. This is harder to tell with characters that wear boots, but comparing to other characters, one can guesstimate where the hands should be well enough.

I refer you again to Sonic Retro's image collection in regards to character reference, if you so choose, you'll find a buttload of pictures that would illustrate more about what I mean better than how I could probably explain. Simple answer - just being lazy I guess. I didn't pick it up until you pointed it out when I submitted it. If I was paid to do this, hell I'd fix it right away or work on tutorials proactively to get the proportions right every time.

I'm here to have fun and learn at my own pace, and make corrections when I can. Cheers nevertheless for pointing out the error.

Well, just because one isn't getting paid is no excuse to be lazy. ...but admittedly, proportions are a sticky thing to deal with on my end as well. DX

Just so long as you keep these things in mind, it's not an issue if you're not being a stickler about it. I understand not having the time or inclination to go back and correct everything. Just don't get TOO lazy.

Oh that texture? It was just a simple cut and paste job whilst adjusting the layer property...

It's nothing special really, I just randomly downloaded that texture from the net, I'm more than happy to pass it on if you'd like! XD It's really a matter of experimenting with the layer properties to get the right look (also not forgetting to adjust the opacities!
