Last year I made a lot of birthday art, starting with happygav123, using the same layout using the ribbon and my Yoshisona handing over the gift with the birthday boy on the receiving end. Later that year, nathanlego123 flipped the script, and it was awesome! Now that his birthday has arrived, I decided it was time to flip the script again. I was going to tell him that I was planning on making him a gift, but I decided to refrain from doing so in order to prevent self-sabotage.
    The day has finally arrived! Today is nathanlego123’s birthday! But man, this was no easy task! I faced a lot of setbacks in the process, but despite that, I was somehow able to make this happen.
    I began working on it more than a month in advance, as a precaution so I would be scrambling and be left burnt out like I did last year. The first thing I made was the ribbon using the same technique I always used since the beginning. But for this case, I decided to change the design of the ribbon, and changed a few other things.
    Then I redrew Yoshi in a new style, and then my Yoshisona. And then I had to draw a dragshi by modifying a copy of the same file, and then his dragshi OC. And man, that took forever! Much longer than the ribbon.
    By Tuesday I already made a few prototype designs that were ready to upload, and I was unsure which one to use, so I decided to continue tweaking the design until I came up with something that I was satisfied with. And finally by Thursday, I had finally created one that I was satisfied with. In total, it took four attempts to get it right.
    So yep, everything was planned in advance and it was a massive undertaking. And yes even the description was written in advance on a separate document.
