I must say, this is utterly fascinating to see this kind of enthusiasm. I love to see this kind of things happening, you operate in Germany only I guess or is it part of something larger?
I have been a hobbyist for 12 years and have now worked with GW for a year so fun to see what more is out there. I also hope to the God-Emperors name that ou have your uplifting primers with you!

No, we use only the selfmade dummy weapons..its point No.1 on the squad rules, no working weapons, every situation.
Its easier to talk with officials to get permissions, if that point is standard.

Expanding the squad, yes...there is a new member join as a recruit of the regular cadian in the next half of the year. The Elysians(4) have joined in the last year.
But I´ve stopped building armour for the next time....I did a new kick of for the hydra project..is priority this year..

The direct loading of the AC´s needs 44 rounds, adding 5 extra charges series a 44rounds, makes 264rounds...complete selfmade, I´ll use pvc in 50cm diameter, do the form with the lathe.
Many work and time to do this...I organize the first material for some protoypes of the ammo yesterday.
I think with this rounds it should be pssible to do a good display in a field emplacement.
