Description
Primitive Dun
Represented by the genomic letters pdpd
A marking from the Before Times, Primitive Dun was once fairly wide spread. An older form of the Dun gene, Primitive Dun produces extreme striping across the withers, legs and rump of the unicorn. Like modern dun, it also darkens the legs and face of the horse and produces a dark line down the spine of the horse.
Primitive Dun and modern D can't be expressed at the same time.
Should a Primitive Dun horse breed with a modern Dun who is homozygous the resulting foal would express modern Dun and genetically be: Dpd
Primitive Dun very common in Solar herds but does crop up in Lunar herds from time to time.
