Shot entirely in one take, without cutting. Song was played back at two and a half times the speed in reverse to achieve a backwards, slow motion effect. Christian Stone had not practiced this song in reverse and had only heard it for the first time at twice the speed in reverse the morning of the shoot. A small note for trivia is that Christian Stone is also the guitarist for the band, "Puddle of Mudd", but writes and records his own music which can be found at [link] The boy in the video is Christian's son, Gabe.

I really loved this.
It kind of reminded me of the verve's video for bittersweet symphony, but that's of course just the song and the emotion shown on his face while the young guy, gabe, is walking.
overall though, to be shot in one take...

Wow, this is really great. The atmosphere of the video and music compliment each other and everything flows together so nicely despite it being so backwards, and it's amazing that it was only done in one take.

What strikes me most, is that this guy had to learn to walk backwards and make it look natural. That must have taken some time.

The sequence involving the chalk drawings is also pretty amazing, it is a very potent and grabbing shot.

I love the dream-like quality of the video, and how skilled the character is at walking backwards but LOOKING like he's walking forward. Very well done.
