-Odette seems to think that the unicorns themselves blessed her with stunning good looks, smarts, and the ability to get away with whatever she wants simply because she is Odette.

-Odette has always wanted to be an adviser, but recently has set her sights to an even higher position.

-Though she'll never admit it, Odette really does want to cross the land bridge to explore the other isles

[Deluded] "That, that thing that gave birth to me is not my mother! And my father most certainly is my father, the rumors are all lies!"
-Having lied to herself from such a young age, Odette actually believes her lies, though there is always the tiniest sliver of doubt of whether what she remembers is true.

-Again she'll never admit it, but Odette is ashamed of her outer personality; she's awful and unlikable and she knows it.

Foal-hood birth-6 years
“What’s there to say? I was born just like any other colt or filly. Well I was born into a very important family, of high standings among the Olde herd. In fact I would probably be an adviser by now if it weren't for the wretched mare that claims to be my mother! Oh dear, pardon my raised voice, I just have very strong feelings towards Gracia is all. Anyway I was born to my parents, Dominic my absolutely perfect father, and that aforementioned thing. I had three older siblings, two years between each of us; making Nathaniel 2, Felicity 4, and Claudia 6 when I was brought into the world. Claudia was always off having ‘bonding time’ or whatever with she-who-must-not-be-named, and Nathaniel was the definition of immature, so I spent a lot of time with father and Felicity. Which wasn't a bad thing by any means, I loved them both to bits, and he taught us how to be proper fillies so we could grow up to be proper mares and be the best advisers the herd had ever seen...At least that’s what it was like back then…”

Childhood 7-11 years
“This is when that bastard Alistair showed up, he was a stallion from a small family group that lived somewhere in the city who would visit us every so often. At first he seemed nice, he seemed to particularly like me. Always telling me that I was the most beautiful filly in the whole world, and he would braid flowers and sometimes gems into my mane and tail...I hate to admit it but I actually began to see him as an almost second father for a while...but it was not so, since he’s an absolute *censored for the sake of the children*. He started visiting more and more often, and rumors started circulating about how much he and I looked alike; which we do not for your information! They actually began to say things like he was my father, and that creature who gave birth to me, was a lying cheater; which she is, but there’s no way that bastard is my father! No way!...I apologize, I got a little emotional there...Where was I? Oh yes, Alistair and Gracia. Well what more can I say, as it turns out they were ‘oh so very much in love that we’re just going to run away from all of our responsibilities!’...They took Claudia with them too...well Claudia chose to, only the unicorns know why. So with our broken little family we carried on, heads held high; we were better off without them.”

Teenager 12-18 years
“Needless to say from the day Gracia left until he died Father was absolutely heartbroken, I don’t see why though. I was perfectly fine, I didn’t need that filthy mare in my life anyway...Anyway life continued on as normally as it could without the traitors around. Father did his best to continue teaching us to be our best, but he wasn’t eating or sleeping properly and he got sick often. When he did go through one of his bouts of sickness it was up to me and Felicity to take care of him since Nathaniel was too busy trying to get a mate or something to even think twice about the three of us. But when I was seventeen, he nineteen and Felicity twenty-one he did think twice about us, but not for the reason I would have liked. It was winter and father had gotten sick, he stopped eating, and he...he passed on….After that Nathaniel stopped being so childish and began to take care of me, finally acting like the older one…”

Young adult 19-21 years
“Two years had passed since father’s death when Felicity left...She said she had no reason to stay, that she never wanted to be an adviser...and if we needed her she would be with ‘mother’ and Alistair...She left us for them! That, that- I don’t even have words for what she is! After she left I’ve been working hard everyday to stay in Vasska’s good graces, and one day I will be leadmare and then everyone will have to look up to me, and they’ll realize they've been wrong this whole time! Could the illegitimate child of a dirty loner become an adviser, and then leader!? I think not! Now go away, I don’t have time to entertain you any longer with useless memories!”

As it really was:

Our story starts with two families of very proud and very pure arabians, each with a single heir. One a stunning chestnut and white filly and one a jet black colt, who of which were already best friends by the age of ten. So the families, deciding a merge between the two was in order, betrothed the two young horses together. But while the colt, Dominic, grew to be deeply in love with the filly, Gracia,; the filly could feel nothing but strong friendship between the two of them. Even so there was nothing she could do, and the day she turned 18 she was married to him, and they wasted no time in producing an heir of their own. She was nineteen when Claudia was born, and she attached herself to the filly immediately; needing some reason to remain with Dominic. Two years later and she was expecting their second child, but when Felicity was born she never quite connected with her the same way as with Claudia.
    In the time between when Felicity and Nathaniel were born, Gracia came across a young loner stallion named Alistair, and the sparks flew instantly. They began to meet in secret more nights than they didn’t, but never went so far as to mate, for if Gracia fell pregnant with a foal that could not pass as Dominic’s she may be banished and her family ruined.
    But when she did fall pregnant, and gave birth to the third child that was not her true love’s she snapped. And two years after Nathan was born became pregnant, and this time it was Alistair’s. As it turned out the child, Odette, could hardly pass as her’s and Dominic’s, but she tried; oh did she try to keep it a secret. But of course Alistair wanted to see his daughter, and he loved her as much as any father could. But soon Dominic put two and two together and realized his precious little princess was not his at all, and shortly after Gracia left with her mate and first born daughter. Alistair had asked her if they could take Odette with them as well, but Gracia could not do that to her best friend and so the three of them left together.
    In the mean time Dominic said nothing to Odette that would explain what had happened, and just kept on pretending she was his daughter after all. He began to spend all his time with her, to the point where he almost ignored his other children; which ultimately lead to Felicity’s choice to leave once she no longer had to take care of him.
    Odette, who had been very young at the time all this was happening was very confused, and having had no one to explain things to her created her own version of the events in her own head that over time she learned to believe. The loss of her father was another huge blow to her, and she blamed herself, feeling like it was her fault that things got so bad in the first place. The final blow came when Felicity left to go live with Gracia and Alistair; Odette basically shattered, and built a wall up around herself. She feels alone and unloved, and like she’ll never be good enough for anything or anyone, but she refuses to acknowledge that side of her and instead insists that the side she does show is her true self. The only one who is occasionally able to get through to the true her is her goofy older brother, Nathaniel. Will anyone else be able to break through her facade and get to the real Odette?

After the battle Odette has grown more and more secluded and distant, and is constantly haunted by what she saw on the battle field. Reality has finally caught up to her, and pulled her forcefully out of her own little world which had revolved solely around herself. Now Odette is completely lost without her facade to fall back on, and not even remembering herself what she had been like before that. Now is time for Odette to truly find herself, but lately she's been lacking motivation to do anything let alone go on a journey of self-discovery.
