Guess what I was listening to, and guess who nearly cried while drawing this, and doesn't know how to draw kneeling horses. (here's a hint: "Say Something", me, and me). Now onto the explanation bit, cause if I wasn't me I'd be a bit confused. The mare kneeling by the foal is Bianca who is Casper's mum, and in order to explain what's going on in the picture I'm just gonna give you a somewhat short summary of her life. Here we go!

Bianca was born to a beautiful Perlino mother and a somewhat scruffy-looking buckskin father. Her mother was part of the olde herd while her father was a loner; they loved each other, but neither was ready to give up their lifestyles so Bianca spent time both in and out of the herd. She found that she preferred the life of a loner much more than that in a herd, and by the time she turned eighteen she wasn't satisfied with just exploring the northern isle, so she said goodbye to her parents, and set off to explore all of Chevalin. At least that's what she had wanted to do. It had been taking her a while to explore all she wanted to see of the eastern isle and on a perfect summer morning she was approached by a group of stallions. She tried fighting them off, and when that didn't work she tried running, but not knowing the location of the bachelors she ran right into their midst. She literally ran into one a week later, a stallion younger than herself at only sixteen, and from that awkward encounter on they were practically connected at the hip. At first Bianca had taken advantage of the stallions seeming infatuation with her, using him as a form of protection from the others. But a year of hardly ever leaving someone's side tends to make you fall in love with them, and it came as no surprise which mare the stallion chose on his seventeenth birthday. The stallion's name was Rance, and him and Bianca aged seventeen and nineteen became parents that same year. Bianca knew months before he was born that the foal would be a colt, she named him Willow, and would sing to him every night as she fell asleep, and would even talk to the unborn foal; the other stallions began to think she was crazy. When Willow was born Rance was obviously the father, none of the other stallions wanted to bother with him and his 'crazy mare', but he didn't want to harm his son. So instead of striking him as hard as he could, Rance only scratched Willow's forehead enough to make it bleed; hoping that Gemini would be convinced by it. He was not, and he was not so kind to the colt. Bianca begged Rance to run away with her, but he couldn't leave the only place he'd even known; and Bianca, not wanting to lose both her son and her mate, stayed by him still. Two years later she was pregnant with their second child, and this time she knew it would be a filly. She couldn't stay and birth her daughter into this world, so she asked Rance one last time if he would leave with her and escape to the southern isle, and once again he refused. Heartbroken she made the trek to the land bridge and crossed it alone, with only one string of thought running through her head, "Do it for yourself, do it for Casper."

Oh i just love torturing my characters the poor things XD It also just occurred to me that there is a Willow in the bachelor herd right now...sorry that was completely unintentional btw the horse in the back is Rance, since I didn't really give a description of him in the summary that turned out to be really long.
