^_^ Very pretty! It sort of reminds me of Science Fiction movies when they crash onto another planet and have no idea where they are and what they will do! >.> Lost.... in space. But of course, that is where Capt Kirk comes in and makes a teleporter out of a couple rocks and some flowers and mud, right? T-T Star Trek was always crazy like that. So I have to ask... how do you make these? They are so pretty, and I know they are digital, but I dont understand the process. I personally am a traditional artist. I dont really know much about digital art, except the bare basics (which I occasionally use to color a picture I have scanned in).

well... I assume you know terragen and you do use photoshop. Adding features to a render is not a technique for me, but rather a vsual thing. Go to the site [link] look for vistas or fields and that'll give you an idea what type of terrain you should generate. I am a photoshop newbie really but I learned most of the blending stuff by reading tutorials...

Well hello there!!
>>Beautiful work once again, this pic can really brighten the day. How much time invested?
Thank you. I worked on it about an hour and 30 mins.... it was an easy piece since the terragen was already there, the stars layer was from a previous piece, and the flowers are just a picture.. Now I am trying something more difficult... simulating oil painting.. boy is that hard.. you'll see
>>Well hoping you have a wonderful weekend! ~hugs~

Nice composition. I particularly like the font. Did you make the ship? If so, what did you use to model it? The planet looks great too. I can never seem to get mine to look like that. You did a nice job of leading in with the flowers (are those a photo?) and then blending into the textured hills. Hmmm, that texture does look familiar.
You are getting pretty good at the "and things" stuff.

Well..hello there...
>Nice composition. I particularly like the font.
I am getting lazy with the comments. I should add the links to where the stuff comes from... Let's start..
The font comes from dafont.com [link] . Check it out, great site and free fonts..
>Did you make the ship? If so, what did you use to model it? The planet looks great too.
I am not into modeling , yet. That's one of the "things" I have to learn.. one day, I guess. The model can be found at renderosity.com [link] . Look for Bryce and spaceships. Yup I used Bryce to render it..
>I can never seem to get mine to look like that.
Are you using photoshop?
> You did a nice job of leading in with the flowers (are those a photo?) and then blending into the textured >hills. Hmmm, that texture does look familiar.
Yes, I got the photo from sxc.hu(with permission of course). Photographer: LiviaCH.

I guess I got lucky with my copy... but yeah.. you need photoshop in my opinion.. There is always GIMP. Does PSP support layers?

Awesome work! I love the mixture of photography and digital imaging. You have melded them perfectly in a captivating image. Now if only it were high-res and widescreen, I could make one phenomenal desktop out of that . . .

6400 x 1200?
maybe... rather than resizing it with regular methods... perhaps a "fractal aglorithm" for resizing may create better results..
But yeah.. you gonna go blind ..

Ohhh . . . 'Bicubic Smooth' - I've tried that before, and on lots of images (especially the cooler ones like yours), it forces a lot of loss of detail. I suppose I'll just have to wait until bigger resolutions become the norm and more people creating images for them . . .
