Asian elephants are always the most magnificent. You just don't see any creature as huge as them. I notice the chains around them--were they chained up at the zoo there as well? When I was in Sri Lanka many years back, they had them all chained by the legs at the zoo. Quite unfortunate and sad, but I suppose with their size, people wouldn't want them to run down the entire zoo.

Great photo, though. Looks almost like you managed to get over the fence.

Yeah there was a bunch of kids on a school field trip pretty much inside the enclosure with the elephants. So I guess it makes sense to keep them chained up for that
