Description Woo thanks very much for the DD I guess this is a good time to plug the competition I am running hehe [link]
Again that you to *Minato-Kushina for suggesting it and ^wdwparksgal for the feature! I feel honored

Just uploading this to use as my new DeviantArt ID.

This is not a photo manipulation, it's my real reflection in my wife's eye

How it was done:
A 300ws strobe with 2x2 soft box on my wife at 1/8 power
another 2x2 soft box on me at full power directly beside me.
7D and a 2.8 100mm Canon macro lens about 35cm away from the eye.
Image intentionally overexposed to bring out the colour in the eye.

Given the distance of the lights to each subject, there was roughly 10x more light on me that on her.

Beautiful shot! Love the color and the swirly detail.

Thank you very much for explaining how you did this shot. I wish more of you experienced guys would do that for us novices. It doesn't have to be a lesson. What you did was perfect. I can figure out the rest.

simply stunning. and may I say that I prefer this cropped version to the first one. simply because the reflection of you is so fantastically clear and I love the shades of brown, as beautiful as amber and the reflection of her eye lashes. wow!

I'm going to assume this is photomanipulated if you haven't specified anything on description..

I never thought macro photography is possible with that range... what lense are you using?? if you dont mind me asking..

Angel-of-genesis In reply to six-pixel-under [2010-08-10 16:08:27 +0000 UTC]

*shakes head* why is there always someone who has something to say? you cant just assume its manipulated if you dont know anything about it

six-pixel-under In reply to Angel-of-genesis [2010-08-11 00:43:11 +0000 UTC]

My bad... sorry about that...
That's why i placed an if on my sentence. xD
I'm only using Extension tubes for macro photography..It' only generic so i don't have any controls over aperture and auto-focus... I can't even do something close to this one...

Very cool.

In normal photos, you can use the reflection like this in peoples eyes to detect photomanipulation of adding people to the original.
