what is the difference from princess serenity, and sailor moon?

Kinda hard to explain with out spoiling and going too much in detail. But everyone has their way of explaining this really so here is my wording to it. Better to read the manga yourself as well to get the storyline better.
Β Basically in the past 'Usagi' was Princess Serenity but due to events within the manga, in the 20th century, Usagi was the reincarnation of Serenity. Luna went to seek out the senshi and had a vibe about Usagi being a senshi. Thus she was introduced and wakened Usagis power to be Sailor Moon and seek out the other Inner Senshi. You can say that Usagi in the 20th century and Serenity have different personalities due to the timeline and her experiences. Serenity was a caring shy, almost like a damel in distress kinda vibe as to sailor moon, she did become weak in the beginning but with strength of herself, 'Tuxedo Kamen' and the other Senshi, she became stronger. Technically she and Serenity, even recarnated they are one of the same still. but really at times when she needed strength from others she would become this form with of course the appearance of her crystal.
