What kind of brush tool did you use for Commandramon's scales?

The squares? I just made them in Photoshop. Just make a perfectly square image, save it, then set it as a Brush preset. Make the image good and large so it won't distort...

Cool result, really digging the background especially. Have you considered something similar with the grid only on the evo and curved a bit with the body? Kinda like Commandramon's claws? That plus the digital effects probably would be the only things to make this more boss than it is.
