In 2009, the Canada Goose was one of the five ducks/geese that were approved for that year's competition. While I had started this drawing on time, I became obligated to do other artwork and unfortunately had to put it on the back-burner. But with better time-management skills and having more career organization than ever before, I was able to return to and complete it. So, I consider this a "mock" duck stamp entry. I entered the competition in later years!

Oh my goodness what great work! Like many of your pieces, this is so well done it appeared to be a photograph in thumbnail view! Of all of your gallery, I was drawn to this piece the most, not only because I love birds, but because I know how difficult they can be to draw and paint, the texture of this goose's feathers, particularly the back and wings is supurb. Bravo!
