you can say that he had left the team once he became defective or outdated and couldnt operate since this AU Eggman and put his cpu on a very old version

well even then robots are there since eggman can make them on an endless amount (even if he has no plans to over throw or take over the planet). plus shadow (for no use at all since he was made to save maria) is there even tho he was made on a space coloney arc 50 years before with dark alian dna in the original timeline. so having eggman being a jerk to his robots still can work

plus sonic boom eggman comesoff to me as hes not as smart as his original one so omega with a old cpu and failing would make a bit of sense or can be explored more
