Description A simple model lighthouse I did over the past two days for use in games. Untextured so far.

Oooh in hours.. hmm it certainly didn't take long, although I didn't time it. I'd say it took 2hours 30 mins about? Although, the face count? Do you think that is too many?

Count seems fine =].

Check its triangles though and not polygon count ^^.

3-4k is fine. Its a single object and as its a lighthouse its most likely it'll be not all that close to other structures, so the count can be higher.

Be sure to make some LODs for it once its all textured.

You can create LODs in max? Also I was using quads.. not triangles

Alan told me the other day I should use triangles, not quads, and I argued it should be the other way round, heh Guess he was right.

There's a point at which modelling for games 'clicks'. A point at which you 'get it'.
