Description
This song, "Lateralus" by Tool brings forth such implication of power. It starts of like as if it is slow, like an observer of the world. The observer wants to hold on to his intuitions, and desiring to break the rules. This will is such a strong will, that he wants to lose himself into this moment.Among the triplets of the Sonic Underground, Manic is the one who holds the most powerful and dangerous weapon that can shake the earth, causing mass destruction. Manic is a theif, requiring his observing skills to succeed. As stealing requires more dependence on intuition than just mere analysing, he needs to be in sync with his inner senses.
Black then white are all I see in my infancy.
red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.
lets me see.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn beyond the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must
Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.
Black then white are all I see in my infancy.
red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.
lets me see there is so much more
and beckons me to look through to these infinite possibilities.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn outside the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.
Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line.
Reaching out to embrace the random.
Reaching out to embrace whatever may come.
I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected
enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human.
With my feet upon the ground I lose myself
between the sounds and open wide to suck it in,
I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out,
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
Spiral out. Keep going, going...

First off, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to draw a piece for the contest I really appreciate it!
Now then, to comment on this! I really like how you explained the pic and song and atmosphere that you were going for in _specific_ and _thorough_ detail, so that it's understandable
Must applaud you for that
You obviously gave this _alot_ of effort and thought! Most impressive! I shall definitely have to get that song
Now as for the drawing itself, you represented the scene very well! The rather free hand and loose and wild style of the coloring appears to paint an image of the "losing himself in the moment" to me. Plus it works very well for the grassy foreground and crashing rumbling brackground effect. Very powerful And the whole forestry field landscape scene creates the whole "world" and "weapon" theme you refer to. They are everywhere and all around.
And it finishes off with Manic in the dead center, showing the whole "holding power" of the earth. Wow, he's not the only one in perfect sync here! You really outdid yourself with this one Emmer girl!
I am most impressed. As always, your uber-awesome style totally suits well on the Manic-man!
He really looks so into the moment, really lost in his beat and at one with the earth. You really do his drumset great too
Excellent stuff. In short, a brilliant job well done! Best of luck to you in the contest!

Thank ya! XD Your comment is the best prize I could have ever gotten from participating in the contest.
It makes me feel worth my while... thank you!
Mwaha, my lil sis complained about the drums when she saw it. She tried to explain the error of technical details. :/ Now that's some amazing Manic fan... XD

MANIC RULES! I can see the dedication so explicit in this picture! You've captured so much vivacity and movement, with the brilliantly chosen colours and the outstretching lines wafting from him! Good job!
