This is my contest entry for [link]This is mermaid Misty (pokemon) Catching a special snow flake
I been wanting to a pokemon fan art for a while... I always go on about Sailor Moon being my first anime and Fav... However thinking back at the time it was pokemon and sailor moon... However seems i forgot all about pokemon over the years... I think pokemon is part of my anime roots.
Anyway... This image... I love the background (however my not fit into the rule of the contest) as I not sure the rule state have to be underwater or as i read a response to someone post that the water has to be in the background... Hope it ok. AS this really was in my creative flow...
Misty drawn by hand / coloured on photoshop. I did her hair half/half. as a mermaid she has her hair down... however i think the side pony tail is part of who misty is... so wanted to keep that.
Was a little temped to add the star to the tail... however i kinda liked it plain...
The SEAL is completely drawn in PS.. ( i used shapes to get the base) and drew very carefully over the top.
The sea/sky ice caps using shapes and lesso tool and then coloured over the top.
A few brushes were used... I believe the credit is on my other account...

Agree... however i think the side ponytail is her trade mark... bit hard to make her look like misty without it... (one of the reason i went for the best of both worlds)

at least it's misty and not the other characters =_=;
lolol i've been SUUPER annoyed with all of these pokemon girl mermaids which are not mermaids in the show xD not to mention them blowing bubbles....
