Description
My entry for ~LiLBlueHorse516 's contest. Titled "Imagination" because: can you actually imagine seeing a gathering of unique horses? O.oThe filly, Callicarpa (meaning beautyberry), is the daughter of Isis and Aldebaran. The other horses scattered around are ~LiLBlueHorse516 's other characters: Saphira, Cobalt, Tempest, and Kalypso.

Well here is what I was attempting to do -- > [link] But as you can see, I failed miserably. I just feel I can't do grass and it never turns out how I pictured it to be. Got any tips for me?

-ponders- Mmk, well, based on the example you gave I've got a few suggestions for you
My first tip would be to make grass closer to the "front" of the image more noticeably taller, and any grass far away much smaller in comparison (which can also help create depth in an image).
The only other thing I can think of is maybe varying the angle of the grass a bit more. Grass likes to stick out in all kinds of directions, even when it's blowing in the wind. Like in the example image, the wind was blowing, but some stray blades were still sticking up in different directions.
I hope I helped a little, I'm generally not very good at giving advice ><

Yeah I know, I tried but I think I forgot and it ended up being pretty much the same size. I wanted to smooth the farther grass out more like in the example. Haha, I tried doing that too, but after awhile already it all started to srick up straight I had been doing it for so long already. Like I know how to do grass and what I want it to look like, it's just actually doing it and it turning out right, you know? Thanks for your help though. The next time I do grass, I'll take my time more and really think about it.

Haha, I thought it was a cute picture and adding your other characters really made the whole herd seem somehow, connected and more real-like. Personally, I thought it was a warm touch.
