What on earth does "wessel" sound like in a Russian accent?

He's trying to say "vessel" (refering to the ship) but because of his accent "v" sounds come out like "w"s, and Sulu finds this funny and adorable apparently lol. It happened in the show a lot, although Anton himself (who is actually Russian) said they don't actually talk like that lol.
