Description A little fun fact: Donald was the reason I realized that I actually like cartoons that have a little drama in them. (That was when I watched The Three Musketeers: Mickey Donald and Goofy movie) there was a scene where Donald have to make a choice. Soooo yeah.
Oh, and also I've always been a Duck fan since I was a little kiddie. The Ducktales Reboot just reminded me how much I love Donald. Xb

Donald in the cartoon
-raised his three nephews by himself
-was able to step up as a leader when Scrooge got captured
-Used reverse psychology on the boys(more specifically Louie the conman of the family)
-went up against the evil version of gizmoduck(don't remember if he one but either way that took balls)
so theirs no argument on that

In Italy (and Europe in general) Donald Duck is very popular and regularly appears in comic books. If you like this version of Donald, with a more serious setting and our favourite duck portrayed as a badass (most of the time) then you should read the adventures of Paperinik/Duck AvengerΒ  Β Β

I still think that the best portrayal of Goofy is from a Goofy Movie.Β Β

I have to agree with you on this one...but second goes to the Three CaballerosΒ

If you like this version of Donald Duck, you should read the old Barks and Rosa comics.

Actually not really.

This particular version of Donald has been around since the 1950s in comic form.

This is the same Donald I was waiting years to finally make a formal appearance on TV.

The Donald from the 2017 show is based on the Carl Barks Donald in the Uncle Scrooge comic series.

I considered the (Uncle Scrooge Adventures) Donald a whole different character than the Donald of the regular series Carl Barks did.

In the Scrooge Comic Donald was full of surprises especially when pushed in a corner

and besides being brave he was incredibly resourceful managing to adapt and plan on the fly.

He also acted as the shadow leader to the team and is often a source of reason to rein in his Uncle when he's over his head..

He had to be Hardcore otherwise he would have been rendered redundant and useless in the Comic, especially besides Scrooge.

I was kind disappointment as a kid that they skipped Donald in the 80s Ducktales.

But then again the 80s Ducktales was dumbed down compared to the comic.

Oh! I've only read some of the comics. I definitely want to read more now! I'm sure Carl Barks and Don Rosa comics are just as amazing if not even better than this reboot.
Also, yeah. It's a shame they excluded Donald in the original Ducktales.

Thank you for replying.

The Carl Barks comics especially the Uncle Scrooge Adventures series I highly recommend.

Some of the best writing in the comic media.

It inspired Indiana Jones.

a403.idata.over-blog.com/0/25/…

It inspired the alien design and space travel in Star Wars.

Yes George Lucas admitted it.Β

Tezuka Osamu the artist widely regarded as the pioneer of Japanese Manga was a Carl Barks FANBOI.

www.comicscube.com/2016/01/the…

Who would thought that Anime would trace its roots back to Donal Duck.

Don Rosa was also an excellent writer that built upon the lore established by Carl Barks.

Don Rosa went way deeper in building the personality of each characters.

Carl Barks and Don Rosa comics are generally regarded as the Marvel and DC comics in Europe and Latin America.

I'm dumbfounded why their comics never caught on in North America.

That's why I love this rendition of Ducktales.

They really pay homage to the works of Carl Barks and Don Rosa giving it a 21st century spin.

Even up to the coloring and comic style

What I love about this show and does way better than either Carl barks and Don Rosa

is how it fleshes out the background and character development of Huey, Dewey, and Louie.

They are not "clones" anymore but actual individuals.

I really hope that the writers of the show could keep up the creative momentum they established in season 1.

Also I love your gallery and your works.

Please keep on posting.

The first Duck tales were a rip off of Karl Barks stories, and they never gave him any credit, at least in the new shows, they went on to say in the interviews they went on on how much they were influenced by the old comics.Β

Oh, no one important. Just the creator of Scrooge McDuck, Gladstone Gander, Gyro Gearloose, the Beagle Boys, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica De Spell, and many others, as well as the one setting in stone the base geography of the city of Duckburg.Β  stories brought in the treasure hunt plot to Duck comics and inspired a generation of people (such as George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Osamu Tezuka, Don Rosa, Robert Crumb, Art Spiegelman and the writers of DuckTales) to replicate the thrill of adventure. He is also responsible for expanding Donald Duck's personality beyond his usual one-note characterization in the Classic Disney Shorts; reaching levels that were never rivaled in the animated appearances of the character.
