I actually like Garble. I find his jerkiness towards Spike quite entertaining.

Yeah, we really needed a scene like this in the episode. I hate how abruptly it ended with no real resolution between the two.

Hopefully, before the show ends, Spike and Garble would come to terms with their differences and make amends like Twilight and Trixie, Rainbow Dash and Gilda, Fluttershy and Discord, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. That would be a major character development for Spike before Gen. 5.

He's not wrong. Even if you subscribe to the idea Twilight overworks Spike he's got it pretty easy.
Lives is a castle with his own room. Has a gem encrusted bed. Limitless supply of gems. Personal connection to every member of royalty. And his workload can't be too bad if he's got enough free time to have regular game night with his guy friends.

It's very likely he'll be redeemed soon, may not be Spike's enemy for any longer and trying to gaining his acceptance. So yes. Spike and others can forgive him.

I think Garble is fine the way he is now, the anti-Spike. Not every jerk needs to be redeemed. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing him starting to slowly respect Spike in secret. He's lost to him plenty of times at this point, and that should count for something among a competitive race like the dragons.
