The new submission scheme is seriously driving me batty. XD DevART really needs to add a "character design" category.I put this in Misc because it's not quite what I'd call a fashion illustration. Certainly this drawing is not itended to be the basis of any sort of sewn clothing (though I wouldn't discount the idea wholly).
This is the uniform of the Smodrinan Space Navy. You might recognize it from the Ivan portrait - this one has been updated slightly. Now you can see both the base uniform and the cape!
Panter and Photoshop. This tiny little thing is actual size.
EDIT;; I fixed the collar and added more decoration to the cape to break it up. I think it's prettymuch finalized now!
I also decided that on the back of the shirt is the same eagle logo as the cape's front, just larger. I bet that looks pretty neat!

I stopped by t'see this outfit after Wredwrat's commissioned piece, and it looks REALLY nice
The colors work really well, and the uniform isn't too complex at all; definitely can see hundreds of men and women in this get-up without asking myself "ok, which Paris fashion designer made THIS?"
Ah, I only took a little bit of costume design theory, but I really like how everythin' fits, and I can totally see this done in real life

Do that. I have lots of time this summer where I can draft patterns and crap, because I REALLY WANT TO MAKE THAT UNIFORM.
All the little details will drive me absolutely fucking insane but it would totally be worth it in the end.

Alas, I was thinking prissy skirt XD but with an alternate version which is maybe... a skort? Shorts? Or maybe skort/shorts as the default? Regardless, the main advantage of the skirt/skort/shorts is that it looks a lot cooler than the guy's grey pants because it matches the navy and silver of the top. Whereas the guys just aren't that cool.
