Neptune Capitol Heavy cruiser:

Overview: Unlike the rest of the Capitol smaller fleet, the Neptune is designed as a frontline warship. Capable of taking enemy fire and dishing it out at all ranges the Neptune is the true response to the Unions Dart class and with its powerful armament can take on a Union Dart toe to toe. Designed after Inaras decree alongside the High Empress class Dreadnought the Neptune has proven already to be a formidable adversary. Capable of engaging and annihilating convoys wholesale with escort and even providing frontline fire, these ships are now typically seen as flagships of small fleets, or in larger fleets in either squadrons or as escorts for Trident class battleships.

Armament: The Neptune is built around a very powerful armament. 2 turrets each armed with 2 Tachyon Arrows provide all round extremely long range and heavy fire, 20 Dual heavy railgun turrets supplement this alongside 35 light railgun turrets. The heavy cruiser also boasts 52 Fusion missile launchers for additional long range fire or planet bombardment.

Railguns: taken from Union specifications while not as advanced as the Unions Mass Drivers Capitols new railgun technology is vastly superior to their old rocket propelled cannons. Now they can engage enemies at speed and while still not dealing massive amounts of damage per shot Capitol have managed to increase their ROF to around 450 shots per minute. This results in the rails being changed after every engagement but also a serious boost in firepower.

Missile Launchers: Made to fire Capitols primary anti-ship missile at extremely long ranges these weapons have limited supplies though most of the missile launchers in Capitols arsenal have been changed to fire thermo nuclear munitions. These new fusion warheads can produce yields from 500-900MT each easily able to damage enemy ships and scour worlds clean of all life.

Defences: The Neptune mounts around 8ft of Azanium armour plating. This new type of armour was developed with the help of Triarch Industries and is now able to take much more damage from both kinetic and energy weapons than the previous armour. The Neptune as well is protected by 3 medium shield generators capable to taking many direct hits each before they need to recharge again. Capitols new shield technology allows them to partially absorb around 11% of an enemy energy weapon shot and use it to charge the ships Tachyon Arrows if it has any.

Power plant: The Neptune runs on three Cold Nuclear Fusion reactors for energy, this system was reverse engineered at a remote location using Union schematics however, they were produced before Inaras rise to power but due to the actions of Sabre team the project was massively set back when the base was destroyed.

Electronic capabilities: The Neptune is run by a (still basic by most races standards) semi advanced reactive system. This system can aid targeted, calculate anything that is needed and also provide limited control over the ships actions. The system can also be slaved to the will of the captain to prevent mutiny or boarding however the ships actions under the computers control are severely limited.

Crew: The Neptune has a crew of 3000 men. All of which are human. Around 70 are commissars.

Attack craft: the Neptune mounts 2 hangar bays, each containing 60 Sabre Interceptors, and 20 Phalanx bombers.

Speed and engines: the Neptune is equipped with a Gravitic drive and can reach speeds of up to 0.7 Light speed meaning it is a fast heavy cruiser. This is where it excels on taking down enemy craft in convoys or in actual combat.
