Description

Tethulas Class Cylaurian and Union of Worlds Support Battleship:

Overview: The Tethulas class is the Cylaurians primary heavy hitter in their fleets. Designed to be able to take punishment as well as dish it out the Cylaurian Tethulas class while built for a beating is not principly used at close range, opting to sit back and engage with its enourmous missile armament. This has more classified it as a support battleship in the Unions Navy Core and they often function as command vessels or a rearguard anchor point, where the large armament and extensive facilities aboard can fufil their function. However should it be needed the Tethulas is more than capable to engaging at close range, its plasma cannon armament giving it a close assault edge as well as its extensive armour.

Armament: The Tethulas mounts literally thousands of missile tubes all over its hull. When fired the barrages that are unleashed have made the Cylaurians famous for their ever fondness of 'overkill by missiles', along with this the Tethulas also mounts 32 Dual Plasma cannons for a powerful close range punch.

Defences: The Tethulas class mounts 6 Mark 3 Crenelated defense shield system: emperormyric.deviantart.com/ar…

It also has 3ft thick of Quantum lattice plate: emperormyric.deviantart.com/ar…

The Tethulas class also mounts a SENTINEL CIWS mounted all over the ship. This system is made up from numerous point defences consisting of small laser projectors, cascade cannons and miniature missile launchers. Together these destroy incoming missiles and fighters, on their own SENTINEL is incredibly effective with most enemies attack the Tethulas at range rather than risking their attack craft on suicidal missions.

Power plant: The Tethulas uses 7 TPC Zero Point Module AX-5 units to provide overall power, these have been reverse engineered from Nakai technology and make use of their artificial pocket dimension technology. The ZPM works by making an artificial dimension and harvesting the natural vacuum energy produced in such, this is totally harmless as if the ZPM is destroyed the dimension collapses harmlessly. The energy produced is also way above other Union energy technology apart from Singularity generators which are still being understood. The Tethulas also mounts 8 YX2 Fusion Generators as redundants in case of emergencies where the ZPM modules are taken offline, these generators while nowhere near as powerful as the ZPM modules can still power the ship although at a reduced capability.

Electronic capabilities: The Tethulas is run by 5 Mark 5 AI systems 3 for targeting and combat, one for background systems and one for overall control. These AI systems are semi sentient and can hack enemy ships. When a AI gets hacked it immediately either cuts the lines so the enemy cannot access or deletes itself and the intruder with it. The Tethulas is also linked to the Union computer and so can access data when needed; it also is linked to the rest of the fleet in a tight information grid.

Stealth wise the Tethulas constantly runs a very basic sensor stealth field, this field while not effecting light effects spectrum scans and conventional sensors. While not totally making the ship invisible this obscures the Tethulas's form and position leading to an increased ratio of missed shots and wrong moves. A full Displacement unit can be installed for true stealth missions if needed.

Crew: The Tethulas class carries 5000 personel to run the ship, as well as man the fighters.

Attack craft: The Tethulas mounts 4 Attack craft hangars, these contain 40 Firestorm Fighters and 12 Eagle Eye bombers.

Speed and engines: The Tethulas is marginally fast, able to reach around 0.58 light speed on sub light engines and also mounts a Union slipstream drive for FTL capability. Current research and development is underway so the Tethulas can be fitted with Nakai jump technology.

Tethulas class, Cylaurians and the Union of Worlds all belong to me

How many of these would the Union need to take out the Azores?

Thats a very good question XD

I would say about 20... Seeming as in previous writing Nakai cruisers can take out Union dreds just as easily as smaller ships. The difference is, these big boys hit a WHOLE lot harder in return

How many do they have in terms of ratio versus Nakai Cruisers?

Hmmmm.... Good question.

A question, Comrade Emperor. Why are the hulls of all the Union's warships so dark in color?

Ah,that makes sense. But wouldn't a light blue hull still be light blue from starlight?

Ah, okay. I suppose the NUSSR's ships being dark gray is a good thing, yes?
