At the beginning of 2010, Nickelodeon was winning against Cartoon Network because CN had CNReal, which is without a doubt the worst block CN had ever made. The seies was based on a short on Nicktoons network. The creator of te show, Pendleton Ward , had pitched the idea for making the short into a full series, but Nick rejected it twice.In the end, Pendleton Ward , approached CN with the offer, and Cartoon Network accepted. As of now, Adventure Time has the largest fanbase of any show aired on CN, saving the channel from bankruptcy.

Then what happens if CN owns the rights to Fanboy and Chum-Chum? That would be pretty weird.

If it aired on Nick, Finn and Jake would be near indistinguishable and there'd be a ton of video game references for no reason whatsoever.

CN was already on the map long back when Adventure Time was still swimming around in PW's head.
The show is good, not CN's savior without whom the channel would be absolutely nothing.

I mean, CN was already a critical and commercial success before Adventure Time was even thought up.
Though Adventure Time helped them continue to be a critical and commercial success, it's not like it's the only show to do so.

I'm not saying CN Real was better than Adventure Time. Hell, anything is better than CN Real.
I'm saying that though Adventure Time is CN's current breadwinner, it's not the network's first breadwinner nor will it be their last.

If that happened... it most certainly would not be like CN's version. The biggest thing would be that the show WILL HAVE Finn and Jake go to school, and a slew of complex relationships won't exist.
