Description tools: Winsor & Newton, Galleria acrylic on canvas 120 x 100 cm

A work from my fine art study project.

telling about something that going on inside of my head.....
in symbolic and surreal style.

In fine art, I have to turn all of these chibis into fine art style,
and they might look a bit scary. c:

Intruiging...I sense alot of symbolism in this picture.

Clocks seem to be the most prevalent, so I'm assuming it relates to deadlines?

So much waiting to burst forth and be seen eh? I envy you for having the time and patience for this high lvl of detail. You really did an amazing job with this picture. I def think you hit your point/idea right on the head for this one. Wonderful job.

Really awesome artwork. Lite crazy and very colorful
I guess itΒ΄s you who paints? Looks very little like L from "Death Note"

Very, very cool. It seems like there's no real method behind the placement of colour and yet it all comes together really well; it doesn't seem random or mismatched.
I also like how you draw the viewers eyes towards the painter, with the bold, red lines and increasing density of colour. From the bursts of colour on the outside, to the larger expanses of colour on the chibi heads to the big slab of colour that constitutes the back of the canvas and easel. Very cool.
Plus I think the symbolism is great; how you have these ideas bursting from your head, yet all we see of the canvas in the picture is the unpainted back, where the paint seems to have been hardly touched and clocks float all around. As if there's so much you want to paint, but so little time to do it in that you... end up spending most of your time staring at a blank canvas with a confused expression on your face .
At least that's what I get from it... probably because I can relate to that.
I like how the colours are neither too bold, nor too soft. Either would detract from the detail I think.
Plus I love how you drew the chibi-heads Sooooooo cute <3

I think maybe I thought about it too much =x

I really appreciate what you did here because you can tell that a lot of hard work and many hours went into this piece. The whole look of grafiti is something completely different from what you normally create. I really love this.

--awesome-- I really admire the way you drew this one ^_-_^ it must have taken so much time and effort to make this, not to mention patience (something I really really lack). But I'm guessing you're an expert when it comes to these kind of art (based from your drawings). The way you were able to draw so much detail.. o.O it's just soooo amazing! And the bright colors you used makes it easy to notice the characters...I'm no epert when it comes to these stuff but still I have to say, this is indeed an awesome work !!!!

It is really colourful but i feels that it could have more colour choice. Or better. Too much blue for the hairs. they blend together too much. I really like how the painter stands out the most in all the shapes and colours though ^^

Awesome! The abstract background really fits the unique expression of the chibis..although they shaped cute..but when they're combined with the background, it creates a mystical or mysterious and abstract feel..like watching Alice in Wonderland..^-^Well..this is my opinion though..anyway Amazing work!

this is amazing... The clean edges and stylistic gradients are superbly done... especially for acrylics... I also love the color variations within the same cell as well as the overall movement and vibrance of this piece... instant fave... hmmm its already in my faves list >.>

btw ... did you water them down a bit before applying them? (speaking of the paint of course)

emperpep In reply to Ruskul [2008-04-26 19:58:31 +0000 UTC]

I mixed acrylic color with water, alcohol(for speed drying) and applied them straight onto the canvas.

Fabulously origional! I would love to know what inspired you to do this. very attractive use of colour, both pleasing to the eyes and to the brain!
I love the way the colour and detail is outside the canvas, revealing the artists thoughts exploding from it. There is just so much going on! Well done!

Wow. That's a pretty impressive array of colors and tones. I'm no artist myself (lawl, why on dA, then? I dunno. )

But my sister is. How long did it take to complete this? =O And the cost of materials... D:

emperpep In reply to sparklykiss [2008-03-20 21:50:50 +0000 UTC]

I can't remember but it take more than 7 hours to finish.

Arches paper is about 300 Thai bath per paper and 32 bath = 1 US dollar

and I can't calculate the prices of watercolour because they're too much. o-o

sparklykiss In reply to emperpep [2008-03-20 22:25:59 +0000 UTC]

Wow, then. Congrats on that, it looks like it took way longer than 7. I was thinking it was about 10-ish. As for the price, it's not all that bad, I guess. >.<;;

(I hate how stuff like that gets really pricey. D: )

Oh sorry , I didn't see the title of picture before I answering you! O.o
I though you're asking about watercolour painting.

This huge work took me more than 4 days to finish and cost of acrylic is 95 Thai bath per tube [32 bath=1 US dollar]

and I can't remember the price of all acrylics I bought.

sparklykiss In reply to emperpep [2008-03-22 03:26:41 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry, I was mistaken. xD

But, wow. That's amazing. It didn't seem all that difficult. Then again, I didn't consider the size. =X Wowzers. Congrats on that. You need to start a fund where people donate money for your artistic cause.

This is really well done. I really like the attention to detail, so many artists get to the stage in a painting where they just want to finish and just get lazy when it comes to the background.

Very good use of colours to emphasize the chaotic composition.

I like all the small things here that give that extra special feeling, like the clocks and notes.

this is very original, i like all the colors

but i'm also wondering why it is you have to design the chibis differently for this style of art.

sorry, but i'm not quite sure what fine art is... XP (i know, i'm stupid) if you could, maybe post a little intro about fine art, that'd be awesome! I'm still in middle school, so I'm trying out different styles of art, and this really appeals to me. XD

but just wondering, did you use black on this piece? I've always been taught to use a color really close to black but never use actual black.

(i'm sorry, I posted such a long comment, i hope you are not annoyed with me...)

thanks
