Within my AU - Shadow and Kharis become the Rulers of a Small kingdom named Adamas (Hence why I call it Adamas AU)
This is why they have crowns.

Shadow has used a special serum to change his age to early Thirties using a Serum made by Gerald Robotnik and additional Black Arms DNA - Hence his change in his stripes - he is more in tune and has maximum control over Chaos Energy now.

Upon their coronation, the newly Appointed King Shadow made haste to provide for the people of Adamas. He works closely with the security force along with construction to ensure peace is kept along with road and building needs. He works closely with Lien-Da, Julie-Su's half-sister who runs his special Task Force and works as his Right hand. His wife, Queen Kharis focuses on ensuring religious needs are met since their kingdom has many diverse beliefs, along with educational and medical needs. She is advised by the Prime Minister, Kallistos as well as the head of her personal guard Aurea.

Both the King and Queen tend to be very busy, though never to busy for each other. On special occassions Shadow will surprise Kharis, in this case he used the Chaos Emeralds and took his wife for a flight through the clouds using the Chaos Energy to boost his own abilities to offset her heavy weight. They know they, even if all else disappears to the hands of time, will remain.
