I got in trouble for drawing like this in my intro drawing classes at University, lol. Whenever they said 'line drawing assignment' I ran a bit too far with it.
This is much more accomplished than mine were though. I think if you played even more with varying the density of line work across more of the piece as you have around the eye it would be even stronger.

hah, in 1st year they tried to break me of my obsessive, construction line habit but i resisted! Nothing annoys me more about education than beating individuality out of students.
After a crappy 1st semester of tutors forcing me to deconstruct photocopies and then informing me that i should be utilising my draughtsmanship - can you tell that i'm quite annoyed about this? - i think i shall be trying to get back to more linear work. Thank you!

Kinda going back to the stuff you did with the eye in the middle of the inferno. Could be an interesting approach to look at. I mean, is it possible that children end up there too?
