I looked it up now, and I even found the original thread from back in the days. There were a lot of other, more serious Gadget versions there. I guess it all came together again in my mind, but like I wrote: At first I wanted to do a silly parody of the original clumsy character and then it kind of became more and more serious on it`s own. I imagine him as a special character unit with dozens of already installed special equipment and weapons, but you only can use one or two per turn and got to choose.
Like:
-Gadget Bolter/Plasmapistol/Flamer...
-Gadget Shoes (makes him go huge distances)
-Gadget Hat (turns into flying unit, can pass difficult terrain)
-Gadget Arms (2 mellee attacks with powerfists/chainswords)
-Gadget Legs (Bonus Attack against Monstrous creatures)
-...
