Description
Hephaestus, the Greek god of blacksmiths and industry, said to be the ugly offspring of Hera created to spite Zeus. Though a god, he doesnt live on Mt. Olympus with all the other gods, but below it where he creates the deadly lightening bolts that Zeus carries. He is married to Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, the most beautiful goddess of them all.Rough sketch - obviously things wrong like the back of her head and down near her bum. I created this to continue the Grecian series I have seemed to have started. And obviously, I have yet again changed the god's sex. This is because a.) I'm curious to see how I can remake them into their counterparts, and b.) I can't draw men for shit.
I'd like to thank my horse legs for being the models for this pic. I think it's the only time in my life I'm thankful I've got man calves like I do - it really helped.
This pic goes along with my Ares picture [link] , my Cassandra picture [link] , my Arachne picture [link] , and my Persephone picture [link] - all three of which (not the Arachne one because it was a bitch to begin with...) I plan on redoing and re-scanning at some point in the future.

I agree. You'd have to take into consideration that Gods and Goddesses might have very high definitions and standards pertaining to beauty. They're Gods, after all. :shrugs: Maybe their definition of 'ugly' is our definition of 'somewhat decent'.
Plus, if you check out all the statues and depictions of Hephaestus he's got no deformities except for his leg.
