One more cute picture of a beautiful cat and once more it's a pity, that it's not very sharp. :/ I really wish the focus would be on the eyes! But nevertheless the motive is nice!

Where do you think the focus is then? I believe I did focus on the eyes, I always do.
But yes I have such a poor lighting in my flat that I'm forced to use a high 3200 ISO value, which reduces the sharpness.

Yeah, I know the problem with dark rooms! That's always a challenge! In my eyes the focus is somewhere on the coat between eyes and blanket. But maybe I#m wrong and that's a problem with my monitor? However: Don't worry: Sometimes I'm sure to focus on a special point and later I see that it didn't work as I planned. It's always a pity :/ I hope you are not angry at my critics!

Of course I'm not angry, after all I did ask for critiques. I wish more people would give constructive comments instead of saying "OMG so cute" or something.
Actually your comments pushed me to try harder, yesterday I started to learn how to use my speedlite so I could get better lighting and sharpness, and I think I managed to get a lot better cat photos.

I'm a fan of constructive comments! I think it's great to know what people like (or dislike) about your work. This way you can learn much and improve yourself and your pictures.
Have fun with your speedlite, I guess working with it will be a great new challenge. I'll definitely watch your results.

It is a challenge to find a good exposure setting in combination with the speedlite yes, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.
I found shooting the flash towards the ceiling to reflect it downwards is a good way to photograph cats indoors.
So far I've only posted one photo where I have used the speedlite, it's this one: [link]
I think it has better lighting than any of my previous photos.

Yes, he died 18 months ago. He was 13 and the love of our lives. I miss him terribly, but do so enjoy looking at your photos. Please keep them coming!
