Description
I'm leaving the story out, yet again.Have patience with me - this is the first painting of this kind I've ever made. A first time thing, in more than one way :]
I really -had- to use references for the background, and I hope it came out okay. It was a true challenge

Beautiful lights & shadows... I would really love to know what made you create this piece...
And would love to know also, what's there, into the foggy End... Is euthanasia really like a song ? I would love to ear the melody...

Wow. This looks a lot like De Chirico's works - the style that is. Very lonely, very melancholy, very... interesting. Intriguing title too.

this, among all your amazing and deeply inspiring work, is most striking. its the lighting this time. the simple use of light and shadow and depth: theres an aura of mystery and dreamy apprehension.
haunting.

I don't know why I like this one, but it has to be one of my favourites. I really like the shadows too. I don't really have anything more constructive or helpful to say, except that I really like your style. Well done on the background, looks great. ~

This is absolutely stunning. I love the colors, the shading, the pose and delight of the figure. All the movement and emotion.. Ugh, how I envy your enormous amount of talent. ;-; This isn't just about artistic ability to draw anatomy or shadowing or any sort of physical skill -- this is more than that. Which is *really* what art is about. And this is gorgeous. I love it so, SO much. It's awe inspiring and breathtaking, as is all of your work, really. A definite favorite. If you don't mind my asking, and you have a spare moment to answer even in your (super busy, I'm sure) life, do you have any online tutorials that you particularly like? I'd really appreciate it; finding good, simple coloring tutorials is slightly tough. Keep up the fantastic work -- you have a ton going for you -- and take care!

I've always been curious as to why the commentary that people make on this site is so...inadequate. I mean, if it were a mediocre piece of art, I can understand a mediocre comment that basically affirms the presence of some skill...but not a great deal. However, it seems to me that such a piece as this, that you have posted, deserves an essay in praise from every person who posts a comment.
Truly, enalya, you are an artist. Perhaps, since you don't know me, you don't know how much of a complement that is, but I will explain and hopefully you won't resent me for my apparent overbearing pride in thinking that my opinion means anything more than anyone else's does.
Firstly understand that for me this site serves primarily as a medium for the exchange of witticisms between me and my friends. I'm not saying that I'm a talented artist myself. But in the intermediary between my friends and myself entertaining one another I scour the site at length in search for art. There are some talented artists on this website, I will readily admit, but not many. More precisely, I believe that there are people with artistic talent, but not talented aritsts; note the distinction. The distinction lies in the fact that so many of the people on this site that possess the basic form and skills of an artist lack the immagination and breadth of interest that a true artist must have. I have admired your work on this site in the past, deeply, but with the posting of this piece, Euthanasia, you have officially placed your indelible imprint upon my impressions; you have proved yourself an aritist in the highest degree.
Unlike so many on this site you sought to expand yourself, and to attempt to master a style that so greatly departs from your past work, yet that so clearly retains your distincitive character; that is, I hope you will agree, the sign of a true arist. Talent, yes, is important. But without versatility it means little to nothing. So many 'artists' have chained themselves to one subject, one mood, one theme...I find this in both visual artists and verbal artists, and it is boring and is telling of a lack of depth in the artist. No truly artistically minded individual is held so firmly and ineradicably to one mood. The life of an artist is the appreciation of infinite moods and realizations and epiphanies; and you have proved yourself capable of that.
Enalya, continue to expand and challenge yourself like you have in this piece and I will admire you and your talent more and more on a daily basis. In this piece the boy is beautiful; the Roman/Greek style architecture equally so. There is life in this piece, as there is in all of your work. An artist's job is to create life, to reproduce life, in all of its shades, colours, moods, and motifs. You do it so well, so incredibly well. If there is anything that I ask of you, (not as a person who wields any control over your person I understnad, for you have never even heard of me before and my coming like this is probably a bit of a surprise to you, but as a truly and deeply admiring lover of art) I would ask you in one phrase, "to not be afraid to represent life in all of its shades". I have clearly noted that you have a proclivity towards fantasy, and it is beautiful, and truly admirable, for I myself feel the same bent in sentimentality, but there is so much more to life, and as I have already said, and will say again, this piece shows that.
I love this piece; I truly do. Keep it up. I admire you greatly, and envy you, for I have no visual artistic talent whatsoever, thought I do believe I have a healthy appreciation of other's work (and I hope you will agree). Thank you for this painting. You are so encouraging in what you do.

"There were days, days when it seemed you could do anything. Without care or worry. If you wished enough, you could dance with the clouds, bathed in the warm glow of the sun." That's a nice painting, I think it'd blend in well with someone's rememberance, or knowledge of freedom, perhaps the unfathomable lack of boundaries youth provides. π: 0 β©: 0
There were days...
Yes, I like this one. ^.^ I think it's because there are very few who wouldn't want to be able to dance barefoot plying the instrument of their choice at the World at large, for no reason other than the can and for the enjoyment of all. Of course, in our particular World such an action would get you carted off by the police, which is a shame but so much of our world isn't young anymore.
It is nice however to see a portrayal of boundaries torn away and play for the sake of play. A definite +Fav from me

Wow...
When I first saw it, I thought it was a photograph... When I read it was a painting, I full-viewed it, and even the full-viewed version looks like a photograph! The only evidence of bruststrokes I can see are in the lower left corner. This is truly fantastic!
