Today is a day of coincidencesso im like doodling n stuff and then i was like ayy this wolf looks like greely, so i start messing around with the shading and then bam Im like wow ive already spent two hours on this, ima go all out... so when im done im like "this looks familiar..." and i realized i did a piece almost identical to this one a little while back. so i go over and look at the old one (i wasnt aware that i made an old one until i finished lol) and i posted it on the exact same date as today, precisely one year ago :0 i realized i havent put critiques on any of my art and since im kind of proud of this i wanna make edits based on what people say to fix hahah.... so even tho critiques are for core members only, id like a little feedback on what looks off to you guys :3

Hi!! This is really beautiful. Your coloring is spot on and your lighting is amazing. You're a very very talented artist and I'm jealous! There's only one thing that I think could be a little better (that hasn't already been pointed out by others commenting). The gold chain is drawn a little too softly. I understand that's the style, but there's not a lot of contrast between the gold and the fur, and at times it seems to blend in, even when there isn't fur covering it. I think you could maybe add more dark and light shading/lighting on it, as gold tends to have many different colors and shades and not just solid yellow. And maybe make the outline of the chain a bit more distinct? Other than though this piece looks really really good!

This is such a beautiful piece... yet I cannot find any distinction between the wolf's left cheek and the neck. All I see is fur, there is no clear distinction like in regular wolves. I suggest adding a little shading/lighting to act like the cheek's fur is above the neck fur. Amazingly realistic, though. You should post this to Instagram.

Well, depending on how you look at it. From the wolf's perspective, it's left cheek, but from ours, it's right cheek.

This is (obviously) a very nice piece, although there are a few things that could be tweaked. The face of the wolf is very well done painting wise, Β and the lighting all seems to be in the right face; however, the alignment of the anatomical structure in the face could use a bit of correction. On the left side of the face the cheek(?) to fur is indented in such a way it makes the face look slender and muscular, but on the right side of the face the wolf's cheek lacks such a strong indention and it makes the face look a bit off balance. The angle the wolf is facing should allow for some noticeable distortion, but finding the right amount can be a bit... hard. The mouth is perhaps a bit too elongated and looks slightly crooked when seen in comparison to the nose. The worn allows fur to be seen through it, which is a little odd being that the worn covers the spine of the animal and the sides. I would recommend maybe extending it up wards and giving it that yellow outline/lighting. The fur on the chest has an odd parting, but I think that occurs due to the chain-necklace. What I'd like to compliment you on is the excellent painting applied on the brow of the wolf as well as the ears. A lot of artist tend to overshoot when doing realistic fur, but I think you've really nailed it! Anyway, hopefully this was mildly helpful.Β
