Capturing these stairs that way show a great eye for composition! The image reminds me of M. C. Escher, and by the way you photograph I am sure you know his work!
The subtle shades of gray are superb, I am sure it wouldn't have worked as well in color - so great work - nothing I can suggest that would have improved this image, which is quite rare... for sure!

Thank you so much for your comment! In fact, I've seen the subject (the "bird") only when I started to process the photo. While shooting I was thinking just about the panorama of the stairs )))

I think the bird is a nice bonus, but what I really appreciate is the twists and confusing directions - where is up and down? What is left and right?
BTW, I suggested it for a DD - I hope you are awarded one, for this is one of the worthiest images I have seen lately!

I think the trick is in two possible angles: looking straight forward you see the picture surreal, but when tilting your head you see it absolutely real
