Description
Twisty was humming a cheery tune while walking home. She has just talked to Needle Work, and she agreed that she was going to make her a beautiful dress for the upcoming Hearth's Warming Dance at Canterlot. She had never gone to a Hearth's Warming dance for 2 reasons.
1) She wasn't really comfortable dancing. She felt as if when she begins to dance, everyone around her just mocks or taunts her. And
2) She really had no one to go with, and everyone usually went with someone. She didn't want to be considered a loner at one of the biggest parties of the year (Besides the Grand Galloping Gala)
But this year, she was going with her 2 best friends, Feather Duster and Needle Work. Needle Work was going to make the dresses, Feather Duster was going to get a buggy and get them to Canterlot, and Twisty... was going to do nothing as of yet. But she's working on it!
With Hearths Warming coming up, Twisty was in the holiday spirit! But then again, who wasn't?
"My master isn't..." She remembers Feather Duster saying, "He never is, and can you blame him, the poor thing has to spend the holiday without his one true love? I feel bad for his sons..."
Twisty tried to keep her mind off of BloodMoon, but anything related to anything makes her think of that stallion. Anything!
A piece of pie: Applejack likes pie. Applejack is a pony. BloodMoon is a pony.
Google Chrome: Google Chrome can look up anything. Including BloodMoon.
A water bottle: It holds water. BloodMoon drinks water.

Ahem... Anyways. Twisty managed to get him out of his head when she saw a snowflake land on her nose. She giggled feeling the cold thing melt away against her warm body. More snowflakes began to fall, adding the already piled up snow from a few hours ago, and Twisty stood to watch the beautiful show! She loved how each snowflake was different and how they all fell slowly and elegantly to the ground below her. She pranced about leaving small holes in the snow to prove where she has been.
The cold wind brushed across her lavender mane and up against her mint green fur. She loved the cold. She loved winter! She loved the holidays!
She stuck her tongue out to catch a snowflake falling from the heavens before she heard a branch snap. She turned to the closest tree and saw BloodMoon, himself, hanging from the branch by his tail.
"Buck! NONONONO!" was all he could say, before the branch broke off, causing him to crash into the soft snow below him. Then, more snow from the tree landed on him.
Twisty froze. Not because of the cold, but in fear.
Her first instinct was to run. Her second instinct... was to still run. But her third instinct was to see if the bat pony was okay. "2" may be her lucky number, but today she was counting on her third gut to help the Count.
Twisty slowly crept up to the brown stallion who was still in the snow pile.
"B-b-b-BloodMoon? A-are you o-okay?"
No answer.
"A-a-are y-you hurt?" she asked.
"No my dear... Only my dignity..." he muffled from the cold snow.
Twisty smiled a little before helping the Count out of the snow. After getting him out, he brushed the snow from his blue coat and brown mane. Twisty didn't know what to do. The first thing she wanted to know is why he was up on that tree. Was he asleep? Hmm... No, bat ponies don't sleep at night, and never outside. Was he watching her? Maybe... She didn't know whether to take it as sweet (ish) or flat-out creepy. But this was BloodMoon, so she would forgive him. Although, she thought it'll be best not to ask.
Twisty felt as if she should leave, her first and second gut was overriding her third one. She bit her bottom lip and began to turn around and walk away before she would bleed through her nose again.
"Forgive me if I startled you Ms. Twisty. I meant no harm in frightening you, truly," BloodMoon said with sad eyes, but a goofy grin.
"Y-y-you did n-no harm," she replied, walking slowly away.
"I felt as if I did..." she heard him mumble. Her ears perked up at his soft voice.
She looked back at him slightly and he looked down. She noticed there was some snow on his shoulder, and the least she could do was brush it off. But right when she was going to move her hoof, she felt this feeling in her heart, this voice in her head saying, "Don't..."
She flinched back at the harshness of this voice and walked away.
"Ms. Twisty wait!" she heard him call seconds later. She didn't wait. The voice forbade her to do so. "Don't! He doesn't deserve you!"
"Ms. Twisty, please!" his voice was closer. She wanted to run, but she felt a hoof grab hers before she could. She turned her head and ended up inches from BloodMoon's face.
"What?" she asked innocently.
"I... uh..." he quickly let go of Twisty's hoof, realizing he had been holding onto it longer than he intended. He even took a large step back. Looking into Twisty's eyes, he seemed to forget what his own name was.
"W-what is it-t?" Twisty asked again staring into BloodMoon's dark red eyes.
"I... well... I uh... I was wondering..." he began to scratch the back of his head with his hoof as he looked at the moon above them.
"Y-yes?"
His eyes lit up, you could practically see a lightbulb appear above his head. "I was wondering why you were walking home all by yourself, at night, and in the cold."
Twisty shrugged. "I j-just had no one t-to w-walk home w-with..."
"Well... I could walk you home if that's alright with you..." he responded acting nervous.
Twisty smiled a little and looked in between her hooves. She so badly wanted to say yes, but that voice came back and was shouting at her. "ARE YOU INSANE? You think HE'S the one?!"
"Stop i-it..." she mumbled.
"What was that?" he asked.
Her ears perked up and she stared into his eyes. He was waiting for a clarification, or an answer, maybe both?
"I w-w-would love it, b-but-"
"But?" he interrupted, looking somewhat sad.
Twisty saw a snowflake land on her nose. "But, I w-would l-love it if y-you could s-stay with me and w-watch the snow fall..."
BloodMoon smiled and sat down carefully. "I would be honored."
Twisty sat down beside him, and a long silence followed afterward. She exhaled deeply which caused a cloud of smoke to escape her nostrils. BloodMoon cleared his throat and turned to Twisty.
"So... you like snow?" he asked.
"Y-yes. Very m-much!" Twisty responded.
"That's nice... I never got a full experience of winter..."
"Re-realy?" the unicorn asked, "W-why?"
"Isn't it obvious... like bats, bat ponies must hibernate through the winter."
"What?" she questioned, her ears pinned down.
"Bat ponies must hibernate. I do it, my brother does it, my father does it, even Princess Ender hibernates. Though not for solid months. She wakes up every few weeks and makes sure the bats are safe and what not, but even the Princess needs to slumber."
"Why?!" Twisty asked.
BloodMoon shrugged. "How in the world would I know? I just do it."
Twisty looked down. "W-why aren't y-you h-h-hibernating n-now then?"
BloodMoon's ears went back. "Actually I... I came to say goodbye..."
Twisty's heart stung. She wouldn't be able to see him for 3 months!? No... no it couldn't be...
"It's unfair..."
"It's natural..."
There was another long silence, this one was well deserved.
"I-I'm g-g-going to miss y-you." No... you are glad he'll be leaving...
"I'll miss you too Ms. Twisty... I wish I didn't have to hibernate... I really wish..."
Twisty crossed her forehooves and looked down, fighting tears. You're crying over this excuse for a stallion?!
"Sweet Celestia! I am terrible sorry Ms. Twisty! I hadn't realized that you were cold!" BloodMoon said.
"W-what? O-oh n-n-no! I'm not c-cold! I ju-"
"Oh dear! How could I have have been so insensitive!?" he began to remove his blue dress coat, "Here I was talking about my problems and there you were freezing to death! Damn me to Tartarus! I mean, it's cold out..."
BloodMoon placed his coat on the double-horned unicorn and began cursing himself. The coat was obviously too big for the smaller mare, but Twisty couldn't help but smile at his kind actions. It was so warm and soft and it even smelled like BloodMoon. Wait...what? TWISTY!!! ... I mean...
Ahem...
Twisty almost forgot about him hibernating through the winter, but as soon I brought it back up, she remembered. Oh, so what, he gives you a coat and suddenly he's Prince Charming? Any pony who's any pony would do that for you!
"Thank you, BloodMoon. Y-you are too kind to me..." Twisty said, ignoring the voice in her head.
BloodMoon looked at Twisty with big eyes. Despite the cold air, his face began to heat up. "Ah well... I..."
Twisty turned away and giggled. BloodMoon simply looked up at the falling snow. There was another long silence. Twisty was taking in all of the kindness BloodMoon showed her, and Moony tried to think of something else to say to extend their time together. But in all honesty, he wouldn't mind spending the whole night with her. He was going to miss her alright.
"What if while I'm gone, she finds someone? No BloodMoon! You mustn't get jealous! She can be with whomever she wants! But I'll be gone for so long... Will not care about me anymore? Does she even care about... No BloodMoon. She does, how couldn't she. She's one of the sweetest mares in Equestria, she loves everyone... But does she love me...?"
"Bl-BloodMoon?" she asks.
He turns his head to see her smiling face.
Twisty placed a hoof on his. "M-maybe if you ma-manage to w-wake up, I-I can give y-you a s-small g-gift for the hol-lidays... And w-we could sp-spend some t-time t-together."
BloodMoon smiled ear to ear. Some alone time with Twisty would be-
"Y-you c-can invite S-SunBite too."
"DANG IT!" he thought. "I would love too! I will have to ask my friend Ender if she can wake me and my brother up for that, though I think she would agree."
"Great! I-I l-look forward t-to it alr-ready."
BloodMoon smiled. "Me too... but for now, let's enjoy the snow fall..."
Twisty and BloodMoon sat side by side like an old married couple, watching Equestria become decorated in the white glitter that fell every winter. The bat pony eventually wrapped one of his wings around the smaller unicorn to make sure she remained safe and warm. Twisty smiled and BloodMoon beamed, and they never let go of each other's hoof.
*EXPLODES* And for the record, so I won't get anyone's hopes up. They are going to find somepony else! "What did you say?" Every TwistyMoon fan out there said.
I said wait and see what happens! Trust me they are going to get closer than ever!
